Feedback to Sonja Wood  - Part 2

"Sonja & Samson walk the Province of Nova Scotia for Ethiopia"

From Assegid

I still remember it like it was yesterday. My friends and I met Sonya when she was passing through the town of Wolfville. N.S. At the time I was on government scholarship studying at Acadia University. We had a little bit of chat about the situation in Ethiopia. We were amazed at the time that someone who is living oceans away and who does not have any relations to that land would go to that length to raise money for people that he/she has not met in their life time. For me it was a learning experience about the world and how it operates. We might look different and live oceans apart but one thing binds us together and that is humanity. The desire to live a better life is a universal concept that should be accorded to every citizen of this planet irrespective of which corner the world they find themselves in.

Thank you Sonya for all what you have done to my mother land Ethiopia to raise money and public awareness about the plight of the people of Ethiopia and your efforts and contributions will never go unnoticed by those of us who witnessed your unselfish determination to help the drought victims of that land.

Once again thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for all what you have done to help my native land. May god bless you and your family and visit you with his grace and abundance to make your life rich and fruitful to the end.

Sincerely,

From Tamirat

Hello Sonja,

It is not what you give it matters it is the effort and full heartedness, the preparation, the commitment and compassion with great determination and conviction that you have accomplished really moved me. We Ethiopians have endured so may misgivings and with people like you who broke the global physical boundaries who care to help fellow human being helped us to move forward. Ethiopia is now in a much better shape and people are more prepared determined to eradicate famine from the face of the nation. Once again Thank you for what you have done.

From Abel

Ethiopian airline is our national treasure. To protest against our airline is absolute betrayal of our motherland. I would suggest that similar support petition should be organized so that anyone who supports our national airline to fly to Canadian cities can sign

From Berhanu

Dear Sonja,

You are great and did great job for the Ethiopian at that difficult time 20 years ago. Many including you have given warm heart to our fellow Ethiopian. History will recall all of you. Many of the lives you have saved could go to school, are now good educated citizens, productive farmers, traders, artists, etc. I am sure you have been to Ethiopia already. Please do come again and visit the land and people. You know the end of the rainy season, September through November, is so wonderful to travel and see around- the rivers, the mountains, the valleys, etc. You should be, indeed, proud of being Ethiopia’s SPECIAL guest!

Best wishes

Berhanu

From Abera

I was reading some of the feedback that was sent to your great idea before I start typing, and touched by "Some know how to live life other simply live watching how others live it".

Expect your reward from GOD.

From Zenebe

Dear Sonja,

Your story has taken me back in years to look my own story at the very scene, where I had been party of the famine-affected population. I also remember, the kind heart of people like yours has acted so quickly and have saved many lives like mine. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all generous people who has stretched their hands. Though, the incidence did not stop happening, the problem is no more as immense as it happened in 1985.

God bless!

From  Gezaee

Hi Sonja,

I have read the story of Bob Geldof who raised $200,000,000.00 using the live AID.  But he has many on his side although all the European governments opposed his campaign.

Your action was self-sacrificial. You scarified yourself for Ethiopia. We owe you too much. I owe you too much.

I am in Canada in Ottawa at Carleton University. If you can respond to my email I would like to see you in person when God allows me to do so.

May God bless you and fill you with an indescrible overflowing inner joy.

From Cherinet

Dear sonja I am happy and sad on the same time. But as they say in Ethiopia ''God has a lot  of surprises in his belt'' I am hoping he will  have a lot for you. Our world need lots of people like you. As you did good for our country, I wish I could do any thing to help but I believe God could do better. So I will pray for you. May God bless you and our world!

Thank you for doing your part to help our country when we need help. God bless you.
